The pool and pool house are situated midway on a sloping, terraced site that overlook the meandering Stone Hill River and its lush meadows. To the south, the view rises to rolling hills, barns and horse paddocks, where breathtaking sunsets mark the end of long summer days. The project brief called for the creation of an open pool house and spacious swimming pool, ensuring the view from the main residence, which also enjoys the serene country landscape, remains unobstructed.

The pool house is nestled against an existing high retaining wall constructed from the same stacked fieldstone used throughout the property. This open pavilion features a low-slung shed roof of zinc-coated copper, which covers a long seating and dining area. A kitchenette and a bath/changing room are located on either side of the central gathering space. The swimming pool is situated on a lawn that is bordered on two sides by dense hornbeam hedges.
